Connecting with Other Military Families and Caregivers

Updated: Oct 8, 2024

Military families and caregivers have unique experiences. The military family usually spend extended periods of time apart from their service member during training and deployments. The caregiver can be faced with challenges when providing needed care to service members once their tour of duty is done. Both scenarios can leave individuals feeling anxious and isolated.

Support lets people know that they are not alone and are appreciated. Connecting with other military families and caregivers can help reduce the feeling of isolation, especially during important dates such as birthdays, anniversaries, and events. A support system where ideas can be shared and frustrations aired will help to reduce stress.

Reach out to organizations such as Dark Guardian for support and friendship. Connecting with people who are in similar situations and can understand the challenges of the military family and caregiver will help to more easily navigate the rough times.
