United States Coast Guard Transition Assistance Program (TAP) prepares service members separating or retiring from the Coast Guard for their transition to civilian life. All eligible service members are required to begin transition process 365 days prior to separation/retirement and must complete the mandatory components of self-assessment, individual initial counseling, pre-separation counseling, and TAP.
