About

Children or spouse of a veteran or service member who has died, is captured, or missing, or has disabilities, may be able to get help paying for school or job training through the Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance (DEA) program—also called Chapter 35.

Special restorative training may be approved, if needed, to help overcome or lessen the effects of a physical or mental disability to work toward educational or training goal. Special vocational training may be approved for a physical or mental disability. These special benefits won’t include medical or psychiatric care.
